Celebrate the Spirit of Saranac Lake Winter Carnival Through Art

Step into a visual journey through time at our newest exhibit, "Carnival Chronicles: Winter Carnival Through the Ages." Held at our premier Gallery & Creative Space in beautiful downtown Saranac Lake, this juried art exhibition pays homage to the rich history and vibrant traditions of the Saranac Lake Winter Carnival.

In partnership with Saranac Lake Artworks, we have curated a diverse collection of works from regional artists who have captured the magic of our community’s most beloved season. From the towering walls of the Ice Palace to the whimsical energy of the Gala Parade, "Carnival Chronicles" explores the evolution of winter celebrations in Saranac Lake from their 19th-century roots to the modern-day "Cartoonival" festivities.

What to Expect

  • A Juried Selection: Explore high-quality pieces across various media, all centered on the theme of Saranac Lake’s winter heritage.
  • Local Perspectives: See how artists interpret the unique culture of our "decidedly different" village.
  • Historic & Modern Themes: From vintage-inspired nostalgia to contemporary takes on this year’s theme, the exhibit offers a comprehensive look at the carnival’s legacy.
