About The Artists

BryanBriscoe

Bryan Briscoe

Bryan Briscoe was born in San Diego CA and the middle child of six, in a Navy family. Bryan was naturally an artist and understood work-life perseverance. His creative abilities were recognized at an early age and publicly recognized during his high school years.

Bryan has received numerous awards and has the ability to think outside the box, create original meaningful art and produce copious concepts in traditional and digital media. Bryan has gained credibility in art; because he thrives on creative challenges. Many of his works are held in private, government and not-for-profit art collections.

When he's not teaching art, Bryan enjoys gardening, fishing, boating, skiing, theatre performances and cooking.

Jim Lawler

Jim Lawler

Jim Lawler is a sculpture, painter, and cartoonist from Plattsburgh, New York. His pieces are playful experiments in three-dimensional form, movement, and color. Jim often takes cues from the environment, transforming discarded objects into art. His use of wire to create the illusion of movement was inspired when he cleared a half-buried fence from a deserted garden space.

Jim’s first experience with art was drawing cartoon characters as a child. This early joy of drawing led to the pursuit of painting and sculpture in the 1960s. He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in painting and Master of Fine Arts in sculpture from Syracuse University. His illustrations and cartoons have appeared in campaigns to fight world hunger, including Heifer International and the award-winning Seeds Magazine.

Dear Simon Photography

Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, KT developed an appreciation for beauty amidst the gritty reality of urban landscapes at a young age. Moving to northern New York for school brought a whole new environment and aesthetic into her creative process as the cityscapes of her youth transitioned to rural environs. What has remained throughout is her love of the female form, whether in contrast with rigid patterns or as an accent to natural lines, and the interplay between shadow and light. Photography is a labor of love for KT, expressing her love of the feminine in its varied, sacred forms. She lives in Plattsburgh, NY with her family, three cats, and an ever-growing indoor jungle.

Mikayla Ploof

Mikayla Ploof was born and raised in the beautiful town of Saranac Lake, New York. She grew up running through the woods with her brother and parents looking for salamanders under logs, chasing thunderstorms, and exploring the world around her. Her first camera was a hand-me-down from her mother, a 35 mm film camera. Ever since then she has been outside taking pictures of everything from flowers to wildlife to landscapes. Mikayla is also a member of the Northern New York Audubon Board and the NY/CT Advisory Council Board. You can see her love of birds reflected in her work.

Over the last few years she has had the support of her friends and family to finally share some of the photos she has taken and the adventures she has been on to capture those photos. Her photos have been on display in Saranac Lake at ADK Art Rise, Coldwell Banker Whitbeck, and the Saranac Lake Free Library, and in Blue Mountain Lake at the Adirondack Experience.
